Just how does a potato start its life?

We decided to call the potato guru himself, Keith Platt from Great Roots to find out. He invited us to visit his growers and meet key relationships in Tasmania to discover more about the life of a potato.

From the agronomist at Agronico, production at Yum Tasmania and meeting several growers, SDFP owner Luke Kohler got a real insight into the varieties on offer.

By going above and beyond to meet the grower it allows Sydney Direct Fresh Produce to not only build solid relationships but to source the very best potatoes and educate our customers on what they order.

"Meet The Grower" is a campaign that we started back in 2017 and the goal was simple. To build relationships, educate and provide the best Australian produce we can find for our customers.

SDFP owner Luke Kohler has been all over the country to meet Australian growers to discover their processes and produce. From blood oranges, berries, wasabi, truffles, stonefruit, persimmons, herbs, pine mushrooms, chilli and much more.

Luke and the SDFP team are proud to have gone above and beyond any other fruit and vegetable wholesaler in the country so we can provide our customers with the understanding and hard work that goes into the products we deliver seven days a week.

We can not thank our growers enough. Your passion and dedication allow us to provide outstanding fruit and vegetables to our customers.

In 2019 we will carry on educating with "Meet The Grower" and focus on local NSW farms.

This week SDFP owner Luke Kohler made a pit stop in Western Australia with the Suncoast Fresh director Graeme Twine to check out Fruitico.

Fruitico is the leading grower and marketer of table grapes in Western Australia. It was a fantastic experience to see the processes and execution of there operation.

It was a full flavour experience and we can not wait to share this product with our customers.

Just recently we proudly supported The Taste of Sydney with our produce. We supplied some of Australia's best chefs with local fruit and vegetables for their two dishes that got prepared for the public in the Electrolux collective kitchens.

SDFP owner Luke Kohler and accounts manager Matt Mintoff got a private tour from Taste team member Kristy Austin.
