Innovation, customer service, and healthy, genuine relationships with the hospitality community are at the core of Sydney Direct Fresh Produce (SDFP), who supply NSW wide with fruit and vegetables to restaurants, hotels, clubs, pubs, caterers and cafes. 

Our expertise and key relationships allow us to source produce directly from growers and markets Australia wide. All SDFP fleet vehicles are temperature controlled, and we maintain entirely HACCP accredited supply chains with both fresh and processed produce.

SDFP is headed up by Managing Director, Luke Kohler who started in the Sydney Markets at age sixteen; he now has over 18 years experience in the provider industry and still to this day takes hands-on approach in running the business. 

Luke and the SDFP team are passionate about delivering the highest quality produce, provide outstanding customer service and wholeheartedly believe in supporting and adding value to their clients, primarily chefs. SDFP focusses on innovative ways to educate customers through social media and educational experiences.

SDFP NEWSLETTER 27th Feb - 5th March 2019 - Sydney Direct Fresh Produce " keeping you fresh with the latest fruit & vegetable market news" - MAJOR MARKET SHORTAGES Beans, broccoli, cauliflower, celery, snow peas, sugar snaps, bananas, strawberries, and all tomato lines are extremely short in supply and expensive. - Baby spinach, broccolini and most herb lines are recovering and prices are starting to ease - AVOCADOS New season shepard avocados have started but we're sticking with WA Hass for as long as we can. They are far superior quality and shelf life. - FRESH PISTACHIO It's only a short season so get in quick whilst they are around. - KIWI BERRIES Now in season and available. - APRICOTS The season is finishing and quality is starting to diminish. Please remove from menu.
Guava - It comes round, oval or pear-shaped and is a sub-tropical fruit. They have thin yellow or green skin and hard, slightly granular and very fragrant pink, yellow or salmon-coloured flesh that contains edible seeds. Perfect for making syrups chef. Now available.
Red & White Cipollini Onions are now available chef. Absolutely perfect for roasting. 😋😋😋
Pomelo is considered to be "king of the citrus fruit kingdom" for its sheer size. Some varieties are the size of a small basketball, while others appear like an enormous grapefruit. Pomelos also vary in colour, from dark green on the outside to a coral-orange colour and sometimes even yellow. The skin can be very thick (up to 2 inches), or thinner depending on the hybrid. Great for salads, marmalade, cocktails and even in tarts. The whiteflesh variety now available from SDFP.

Have you tried custard apples chef? There are four main custard apple growing regions, all found on the east coast of Australia. These regions stretch from the Atherton Tablelands in tropical north Queensland down to Lismore sub-tropical NSW, allowing for a high supply of quality and delicious fruit throughout the season. This luscious and flavoursome fruit has Australia as its largest commercial producer.
Yesterday we took the next generation of chefs from the @solotel_group on our educational coastal forage from Bondi to Bronte. We kickstarted the day at our usual breakfast hangout @drakebondi and enjoyed the best avocado and eggs, coffee and juice in Bondi, courtesy of head chef and owner @ianoakes Oakes. Diego aka ”@theweedyone” is our expert forager who brings the passion, knowledge and positive energy every time. From the get-go, the chefs were captivated and inspired, but most importantly it was nice to see them relax in nature and enjoy a morning stroll while being educated. Finishing up in Bronte the SDFP team put together a BBQ with some homemade cookies and invited everyone for a dip in the ocean. It was a magical Monday and a real pleasure to enjoy this experience with our customers. Thanks for attending and taking the morning to join us. Luke Kohler and the SDFP team.
